says...

After being a bit disappointed in Rally Trophy, I still have to say Rally
Championship 2000 (Mobil 1 Rally) is tops on my list.

Rally Trophy. No doubt about it.

Well I'm still awaiting delivery of Rally Trophy, so at the moment Colin
McRae 2 or Rally Masters, both are getting long in the tooth now. I did have
Rally Championship 2000, but found it very bland and not overly realistic.

But there have been a lot of good things said about RT, enough to convince
me to grab a copy on the cheap of ebay.

None of them are really great, IMO. But I guess overall I would say Mobil1
Rally Championship once you tweak it up. It's the closest to a simulation of
rally racing anyway.

For pure clean and mean driving - RT no contest
For pure rally gameplay/tracks - RC2K no contest
For pure fun, sensational "easy" moves - Rally Masters no contest

RT scores extra points with the nice goodies found on Relay site. Pace
notes, skins. sounds, physics files etc. Some day hopefully new tracks/cars
also. A *** to set up (controller for most, gfx for some) but worth the
effort once you are there. Think it still have some weird physics "features"
after patch, the basketball kind of sound you sometimes hear when
rolling/crashing is perfect, cars seem to lose 3-400 kg in these bounching
situations :) Well, not perfect but much are pointing in right direction for
rally freaks - nice to see someone who try! Hope it sells big time even if
the obvious attempt at making both the casual gamer and the pro happy at
same time might backfire in the end - sadly quality and money dont allways
to go hand in hand - not a word about CMR2 ;)

Rallisport Challenge (XBox) is the most fun. Maybe not the most
realistic but it's my favourite.

I only have Mobil 1 Rally & it is gorgeous, though some of the physics are
questionable.  I also like the long stages.
Are there any other rally sims with full realistic-length stages?
