GPL Screen Freezes. HELP

When racing GPL off or online the screen freezes. I can still hear the car
engine when the screen freezes. I have to hit the reset button to restart my
computer.
My system:

PIII600
V3 3000 latest drivers
256 ram
Sb Live sound card
Logitech Wingman FF
TSW pedals (w/clutch)

I get 36 fps no problem. When the screen freezes the fps meter is lock at 36
fps. Anybody have any ideas. PLEASE HELP.

My guess is that your CPU or video card is overheating.  Try adding a
fan or two inside your case.  The slot-card fans work well, are cheap
and are easy to install.

You didn't mention your operating system, but if you run win95/98 it might
be due to a vxd problem with windows.  You can find the easy fix for it

I had this problem.  One solution was to lower the screen resolution, but a
better solution was getting the "unoffical 3Dfx GPL patch-O-matic" by George
Smiley.  It is available at the GPLEA utilities page.  You need to make sure to
get the settings correct in the Glide.ini file, particularly make sure GPL
Override=1.
