GPL screen freezes

Sometimes while racing my screen freezes and the program continues
running in the background. I have to kill it via the task list.

I use a PII400, VoodooII.

Has anybody else encountered this problem ?

Thanks for any help

The 2.54 drivers can cause this.  Overheating can also cause it.  The
latest drivers from 3dfx may fix it if you have 2.54.  A surer thing is
to put the 2.53 version of glide2x.dll in the gpl folder.  If it aint
the drivers, you can test for overheating by running with the cover off
the pc and maybe even pointing a table fan at it.

You could also check that Find Fast isn't kicking in as a function of
Windows. Its been mentioned many times before with regard to screen freezes,
and I cured my freezes by making sure it doesn't run automatically. Works
for N3 etc as well.

A lot has been said about this. ranging from driver update to downclocking
the voodoo2 to reduce the heat produced by the V2. I found out that all that

640x480 resolution. This 640x480 is the only way to get GPL running without
freezes. You could use the GPLGlide patch by George M. Smiley to run the
mirrors at half the framerate the normal game does (36fps) to ease the V2
load a little. If you like I can sent you a copy including a ini file
missing on some download sites.

Weird.  I've just bought this game and have the exact same setup and probs.
Where can I get a copy of the glide2x.dll (2.53) to put in the folder?
