Wheel pedal combo

Wheel pedal combo

by Rhett Lang » Fri, 19 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I created a wheel pedal combo with a potentiometer on the wheel, gas
pedal, and the brake pedal.  It has two buttons.  How do I configure my
combo in the control panel joystick in Windows 98?  It works great in
DOS.
Thank you,
Rhett

Open the joystick menu.  Click on "add".  Pick "custom".
In the custom menu, you can pick the number of axes and
buttons.

You could also experiment with the stock choices.  Try
"Thrustmaster Nascar Pro with Seperate Axes".

Note:  For best results, make sure your steering is on
JoyA X, gas is on JoyA Y, and your brake is on JoyB X.
Win95 wants you to use each axis in order.  If you skip
an axis and leave it open, Win95 will say your controller
is not connected [Does Win98 fix this problem?].  If
you do skip and axis, wiring a 50K ohm resistor onto
it should fix the problem.
