Best Wheel Pedal Combo?

Wait until October.  Thrustmaster should be selling a force feedback
wheel and pedals (not sure on the pedals).  They worked in conjuction
with ***net.  Look for some info in the current (August) issue.
Should not be over $200, most likely less.

Hope this helps, and if you need any additional info e-mail me.

Well, the time has come to replace my T1.  I have used a T2 and it
seems much improved over the T1 but I was wondering if there were any
others that might be a little better quality.  I would appreciate any
input anyone has to offer.
TIA

Gary,

It depends on how much you wanna spend.  I got an ECCI CDS, and have
loved every second of it.  It's built like a brick sh*thouse, made to
last for years, and is heavy enough that it doesn't move on my desk.  It
was very expensive though.  I had a hard time justifying the cost to
myself, but once I got it, I knew it was quality!  Only problem I've had
is that I had to buy a monitor stand, because it requires about 10"
inches of clearance under the monitor on my desk.  Awesome wheel and
pedals.

I was thinking of getting one of these deals sometime down the road, but I
had a question about the control mechanism of the gas pedal and steering
wheel.  Can the steering control be gradual (i.e. turn the wheel a little,
and steering turns a little), likewise can you give a "little" gas (or a lot)
and have more realistic control of steering/accelleration/braking using
these.  Using the keyboard, steering, braking and accellerating is an ON/OFF
deal, so I it is difficult to maintain a constant speed through some turn.
Consequently, I find myself tapping the accelleration key rapidly to maintain
a constant speed (and likewise through the pits where there is a speed limit).
I would love to use these simulator steering wheel/pedal systems if I could
obtain this kind of control.

Thanks for any input!

I suggest you look at Sim News. John had done some very useful and
informative reviews, but was aware that most people say "I've got ****
and its the best". His review getting wheel users to try the others to
compare was even more illuminating!

Cheers!

I want to thank everyone for all their input on this!  I'm really looking
forward to obtaining this "so-talked-about" T2 as it seems to has what I'm
looking for at an affordable price.

See you on the track!
Thanks again!

Hi
I use the Extreme Competion Controls. This system is
not cheap (runs at about $800 CND) but it is an
awesome. The unit is all metal constuction and the wheel
unit weighs about 35 LBS so you don't need velcro or
suction cups. I highly recomend this wheel and pedal
system.

Yep, that's the whole idea! it really turns icr2 and gp2 from a game to a
simulation. a lot more fun!

btw i recoomend the extreme competition controls CDS as the best system,
but it is expensive.
