P.S. I would be very happy with 25 FPS. My laptimes would probably go down
considerably.
from all I read here, a V2 card would be overkill for your current
system. Rendition cards supposedly are the best choice for slower
computers regarding GPL.
A bit more RAM won't hurt, definitely. 32MB is the minimum for GPL -
another 32 or 64MB of RAM will make Windows faster and allow bigger
replays. I upgraded from 32 to 96MB recently, and the computer as a
whole is much smoother now. But it didn't affect the framerate in GPL
too much.
You didn't mention explicitly what Rendition card you bought. If it is
a 8MB card with a 2x00 chipset, there is no need to get another
graphics card for GPL. The older 4MB models are considerably slower,
I've been told.
You could try overclocking your CPU, or buy a new CPU and mainboard.
Conventional wisdom has it that a Celeron 300a in an Abit BH6 board is
the best combination regarding speed and price.
