Just wondering if anybody out there has tried to run a full
field race with a Celeron 300a (overclocked to 450), or
actual PII 450, using a single Voodoo 2 12mb and/or using a
4mb Herc Thriller. And if anyone has, what was the fps at
the beginning of the race, running by yourself, running near
2 or 3 other cars? My system, a P266 MMX, gets around 8.5 at
the start, 25 to 30 by myself, and drops in the 20's as an
AI car passes, and I am always being passed, btw. :)

With a  p2-450 128 meg ram, Voodoo II 12meg, I get 36 fps with full field...

I get no framerate hits whatsoever...

What graphics card/ram are you using?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that this was using the
Monster II 12mb. But I can also use the Thriller in my
system if it could do any better.

Current relevant system specs:
Win 95 OSR 2.1 DX 6 update
Abit AX5, latest Abit bios
64mb's EDO
P233 MMX overclocked to 262, 75 MHZ system bus
5.4 gb Maxtor DiamondMax 5400 rpm HD
Diamond Monster 3D II 12mb, latest Diamond Drivers
Hercules Thriller 3D 4mb PCI, latest Hercules bios and
drivers
Creative Labs Soundblaster AWE 64, latest drivers
Thrustmaster ACM game card

I recently was very fortunate to recieve 2 64mb PC-100 SDRAM
DIMMS as a gift and I'm now ready to build a new system.

As of now my plans are as follows:

Abit BH6
Celeron 300a, 450mhz on 100mhz bus
2 64mb TI PC-100 SDRAM DIMMS
PCI Promise FastTrak
2 6.5 GB Seagate 7200 rpm HD's, striped set
4mb PCI ELSA Victory Erazor (Riva 128)
12mb Diamond Monster II
Some cheap A3D PCI Sound card (which one is best value?)
