Depends on what you're looking for. If you want fast Direct3D, a Riva TNT
card is probably best, paired with a Voodoo 2 or two for Glide support. If
you're on a budget, the Voodoo Banshee is a good 2D/3D solution with good
D3D, Glide, and OpenGL support (I recently got an AGP Banshee, and am very
satisfied). If it's for GPL or Papyrus stuff only, and you have a PII/300 or
slower, you may consider a Thriller 3D 8MB...

I bet that really cleared things up  8^)

For a "all-in-one" solution with the best compability, get a Banshee card.
(It runs GPL at a steady max-36 fps with a faster than a PII-300 computer)

Don't buy the Savage for any papy title (i.e. - GPL, Nascar 2, Nascar 1999),
as it will not help at all.

Banshee gives higher resolution in GPL than the Hercules Thriller, but some
people like the look of the Thriller better.  Both will give good
accelerated frame rates.

I love my Monster Fusion (Banshee chipset)
