F1 2000 Problem?

by Intimidato » Sun, 19 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I downloaded F1200 and unpacked it as per the instructions with no
problems.  When I run the game though, it drops back to the desktop
after displaying the f12000 logo.  This happens whether I select
software or D3D mode.  Have I made a mistake unpacking the game or is
this a legit hardware problem.  I have a Viper V550 card w/the 2.08
detonator drivers and a Soundblaster Live w/the latest drivers, all
running under DX7.0a.  Do you have to unpack the game to a specific
directory for it to work?  I would like to be able to get it to work,
but if I can't, at least I only wasted about 15 minutes D/L'ing it
(god bless cable)!

a message saying the is an error reading the MAS files
options\options.mas.

Also, the files unpack.bat is not present in the packaging!!!!

All the archive files have 2847Kb, except the last one : 137

That's your problem you need the Unpack.bat file and then you have to run
it.  It extracts all the tracks.  Mas files are part of the Track files for
the game.

F1 2000 Problem?

I still have the same problem.  The unpack.bat file has been replaced by
setup.bat which extract all tracks and the .mas files.  It looks like I have
all the .mas file (I have a lot), but the option/options.mas is still
missing. I have just downloaded the files again...  Could someone post the
option/options.mas file!!!

The .arc files, as they appear in the ZIP files, are dated around March 17th
2000 at 7:45hrs.  I used the installer.exe that come with the package to
unarchive the files..Maybe the new distributions contains an error.

F1 2000 Problem?

by Bria » Mon, 20 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I had the same problem.  The following lines in the setup.bat didn't work
for me:

alias uharcer = %_cwd\uharc.exe
attrib -r -s -h *.* /s
for /R %i in (*.uha) do (

)

Here, the "alias" didn't seem to work - I copied the uharc.exe file to the
C:\ directory and replaced the line:

with:

You need to rerun the Install.exe again (because the *.uha files will have
been deleted) then run the modified setup.bat

Most likely it failed because you have a folder name that was either
longer than 8 characters (ie: Formula1-2000) or had spaces in it (ie: F1 2000).

It worked fine for me in a folder named 'f1-2000' .

Thanks for the info - I was wondering what it was.  I do have "F1 2000" as
the folder name.
