I wasn`t going to get into this really, but my curiosity got the better
of me :-)
Over at the 3Dfx news groups I consider you to be one of the "good"
guys, but apart from a (very) few exceptions, the only thing you have
brought to this news group is abusive noise, why ?

This group is too small and being small is controlled by a few people
who set the tone and discussion. And I get the impression that bugs
Nos alot...as well it should. Another reason for the developers to get
involved...to bring more people here.

And abusive, obnoxious pissing matches is going to accomplish readership
and participation from developers? I think just the opposite. We don't
need any stinking help in being immature here in r.a.s., we handle that
quite well without any assistance. Thank you anyway... But, we have
driving off basically any and all developers who dare attempt to brave
the fetid waters of r.a.s. Those we could not scare off, we forced to
find other jobs outside the racing simulation field (i.e., Jim Sokoloff,
and Rick Genter). So you can see we are in no need of assistance to
continue immature dialogues in r.a.s. Our record speaks for itself.

I have been using Free Agent by Forte for some time, and find it a
1st rate newsreader program. so good in fact that I never use the
standard one that came with Sprynet. You can download it from Tucows
web site.

It's a strange world-view indeed that believes I was forced to find a
job outside auto sims because of r.a.s. :-)

Thanks Joel, I will give it a try. Mike
Gnus (comes with Emacs):
http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/voelker/ntemacs.html and
http://www.gnus.org/
and slrn:
http://www.vex.net/~cthuang/slrn/
I haven't tried them yet myself, but I'm about to. (Free) Agent is
probably easier to setup and use for a beginner, but when you start
feeling normal Windows newsreaders don't have everything you wanted
and are too restricted, these two (especially Gnus) are the way to go,
according to many.
