GPL lock up trouble

I just bought GPL and it locks up instantly.
system
P II 400
128 meg
AGP Hercules terminator with Intel740 chipset 8 meg
PCI Diamond Monster II 3d 12 meg

the game locks up as soon as I start. I have to reboot. Any suggestions???
please. Sierras tech support didn't seam sure about being able to help me.
I have downloaded all the latest drivers from Diamond according to their
tech guys.

do you get scrambled video?  using the rendition for video?  running win98
with multiple users?   If so, there is a win98 issue mentioned in the
readme.  when you logon, hit cancel instead of selecting a user.
