I was thinking  that since we now have FFB we should just hear the
tire skid sounds from the rear tires only. Its hard enough to
accelerate out of a corner (especially with my new 60/45 differential
setting) and not know which set of tires the skid sound is indicating
is at its limit.FFB makes running my fronts at the edge much easier
and you can visually see the tires sliding since there in the FOV.I
have alwasy had a hard time with my rears though and not knowing which
end was sliding was my crutch.

Now that we have FFB wheels its time for Papyrus to give us the
option to turn off the front skid sounds and just hear the rears. After
all its the feel of the wheel that lets a race car driver feel the
edge of the front tires. The rear slip angle is felt through the seat
of the pants and we all know were far away getting that feedback
sitting at our computers.Skid sounds for the rears only would help
this out greatly. With this traction sampling would take on a new
meaning.Im not suggesting this for GPL but all the new sims that Papy
comes out with should have a button in the controller section to
enable locking the skids to the rear tires only--for owners of FFB
wheels. Then they can put more effort into modeling the slip angle
better with sound.Lower in the slip angle curve and not just changing
in pitch as slip angle increases but also in tone.

It would be really beautiful if they could use four point surround for the
tire squeeeeal; have each speaker dedicated to each tire....mmmmmmmm.
