MS FFB wheel problems

I have a MS sidewinder force feedback wheel, and the profile editor
doesnt work so i cant make GPL use seperate axis on the pedals. But the
profile activator works so i was wondering if someone could
send me a profile with seperate axis, and maybe some other settings that
would make GPL work better.

Thanx

The check box is under the Settings Tab when you go to joystick
properties, as is the centering force setting. UNcheck the "Map Axis
xxx to xxx " setting to get separate axis control. Have you downloaded
the upgrade to the Profile Editor?

Icer...

Is this "Map Axis xxx to xxx " you refer to in a newer version of the
Profile Editor? It's been a popular misconception that you enable split axis
by changing "Map Forces From Y Axis To X Axis", found in the Game Controller
Control Panel, which is not the solution. In the version that I have, to
move the throttle and brake functions to separate axes you do the following:

1. Open the profile that you will be using (or create a new one) using the
MS Profile Editor.
2. Select the obscure Settings tab.
3. Select the "separate" pedal option.
4. Save the profile.
5. Load the profile using the Profile Activator.
6. Adjust your controller settings in your game.
7. Enjoy the control benefits of split axes!

In addition to setting up split axes, you can also adjust "dead zone" and
pedal range of motion from the Settings tab.

The check box labeled "Map Forces From Y Axis To X Axis", found in the Game
Controller Control Panel, is used to map force feedback effects from the
Y-axis to the X-axis for games that produce Y-axis force feedback effects.
This is necessary because the MS FF wheel only detects effects that are sent
to the X-axis.

I had the same problem, when I spoke to MS I was advised to set to none the
hardware acceleration in system properties\ performance\graphics.

God knows why but it worked.

I now do the above if I want to set up a new profile and then put my system
back once I have created it to use it. A pain I know but I know of no other
fix as yet.
