Needed new machine for upcomming NASCAR II. Went with Cyrix P166+ and
jumped aboard the Rendition band wagon on Intergraphs first day. Now I
think I may have taken wrong turn in quest for speed. As you may have
guessed, this system is fairly quick but will not run INDYFAST. I am
pleased with INDYSAFE, but nonetheless dismayed at not being able to run
all out. Just how much difference is there between INDYSAFE and
INDYFAST? If I switch to Intel CPU will I be able to run DMA mode or
does motherboard need to be replaced as well. Is there a chance that
NASCAR II will run on Cyrix/Rendition combination in fastest mode, or
will it have to run in some compromise mode leaving us Cyrix victims to
wonder how much speed we are missing? Perhaps the solution is to
replace rendition with ET-6000 for less sophisticated but faster
graphics. Comments welcome.
