Are you using a DFI Motherboard in the system.  If not, ??????

I also have a P166+, 32 meg ram, and rendition card. Very choppy
and the game also has an annoying pause of about 1/2 second when going
around the turns. The rendition version of ICR II  runs perfect.

just fine even in traffic

I got significant improvements by running RENDDMA.BAT instead of the one
the Nascar2/Rendition icon was pointing to by default.  I'm running a
P133-based system with 32 megs of RAM and was getting some delays before
the switch.  I now run it with ground, asphalt, and grandstand textures
turned off and it works well.
