Hey guys, I'm having a problem I was hoping someone coould shed some light on.
PII 350, 64meg, sblive, Crelab Mons3d2 (12meg) and Thrustmaster Nascar Sprint
wheel. Whenever I try to use the Monster3D (voodoo2) in GPL, and try to
calibrate
the wheel/pedals in the game, it locks up the entire system. It doesn't matter
if I use DirectInput or generic, i can not calibrate or assign buttons within
the game without the whole system locking up and I mean completly not just the
game( i have to do a hard boot). I'm using Diamond's latest voodoo2 drivers (i
believe it's glide 2.54), creative's latest SBLive drivers, DIRECTX 6.1, and
the updated .VXD for the sprint wheel. I do not have this problem at all if I
restart GPL in software render only, bypassing the Voodoo2 and using no
hardware acceleration.
Any ideas?

Try using glide 2.53 drivers, 2.54's had problems with GPL and other games.

Thanks for the input. I tried the 2.53 drivers in the gpl folder and it helped
a bit but eventually locked up after a few laps. Just for the heck of it I put
some of my older glide drivers (ver 2.50) in the gpl folder and left the newest
(2.54) in the windows/sytem folder. Guess what? It worked flawlessly. Perfectly
stable, smooth as butter, and it even helped clear up a bit of the steering
wheel shakes I was experiencing. anyone else having these problems may want to
try this as well.

Interesting.  You state that you have a Crelabs Mons3d2...so what exactly do
you have a Diamond Monster3D2 or a CreativeLabs Voodoo2 board?  If you have
the CreativeLabs Voodoo2 board try running the CreativeLabs drivers and not
Diamond's drivers.

Forgive me sire for I have mislead you. I meant the Diamond Monster 3D II, and
my previous posts were referring exclusively to the Diamond released drivers.
