TSW split mode and F1 2001

Has anyone figured a way to use the TSW2 in split axis mode with F1
2001 yet? Has this been addressed in either of the developers updates
and I'm missing the fix somewhere? I saw a couple posts about holding
the pedals down while the sim boots, but no luck with that. It's a
real hassle to reconfig everything to switch sims.

Tim,

I have a 4-axis TSW with the throttle on "Z" and the brake on "RZ". All I
have to do is hold down the brake pedal while the sim is starting up and
everything works fine. What configuration do you have?

I also have a 4 axis TSW, minus the clutch (using the red RCA dummy
plug). It's set up as a 4 axis 2 button wheel in windows. But when I
try to re-map the controls in F1, it only sees axis X and Y.

I had problems with my TSW2 and F1-2001 until I purchased the USB adapter
from TSW.  Now everything works great, but I still have to hold the brake
down slightly when the game is loading, or I get a brake switch instead of a
pedal.  The slightest touch, and they lock completely.

I have an original TSW that I use in conjunction with an LWFF, and
split-axis works fine.  I have the TSW on ID#3.  Perhaps you could try
moving your TSW2 to a Controller ID other than 1?  Of course, that might
***up some other sims, but if it works, it's not a big deal to switch
back and forth.

Just something that might be worth trying......

Do the "hold down the pedals" thing(both about halfway) while starting before
you calibrate.  Then it should see the other axis.

Yes that is the only way to make your TSW2 to work.

What I am still mad about is how EA is treating dead-zone problem
in  split-axis configurations, there still no patch for it, and they
are pushing 2002 on us.
(I am refusing to use DXtwek.exe because it's going to***up
my other games.)

"greg"
I agree they made a bad choice in how to implement thier pedal
calibration.  But dxtweek can be easily reset...and fwiw...I've used N2002,
GPL, NH, with the same dxtweeked settings and haven't noticed a
difference(after new calibrating in each game)  I'm not very good at picking
up the small changes, but most of my titles seem to live happily with the
adjusted settings.    Or as I said, just re-run dxtweek and reset
everything.  Good luck
