TSW tweak for split axis in F1 2001/2002

Hello fellow racers,

after a couple of very nice emails from Dave Jr. of Thomas
Enterprises I finally managed to get my tswmod wheel working in
f1 2001 / 2002 / FIA GTV3, using split axis.

It's an easy modification, and I've described it here with a
couple of pictures:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Hope it helps some of you setting up your rig with these titles.

I don't know if it would help with the USB adapter, but it
works great when the wheel is connected to the game port.

Cheers,

uwe

PS: Thomas has to be one of the best companies around when it
comes to customer support. They never fail to amaze me with
their helpfulness and patience. Incredible!

Uwe,

I've got a TSW2 and this conversion seems to be simple and easy. But
does it effect split axis in GPL and Nascar 2002 once a new custom 3 axis
wheel is created.

TSW tweak for split axis in F1 2001/2002

What was interesting in my case was that I was not able to get them to work
in F1-2001 but they do in F1-2002 (split axis).  My TSW2 pedals are pretty
hacked up though.  I rewired them to work as one with my Momo and now the
accelerator is backwards and only travels 50% of the original Momo pedal (Z
axis 0 to 1000) and my brake is on RZ (-1000 to 1000).

Works like a charm in F1-2002 though.  Glad you got yours working!  Dave
Jr/Sr and company are the BEST.  I've spent a few dollars with TE ;)

Hi Joel,

you can still use the "generic" input driver for both gpl and
n2002 which will recognize your controller just fine as those
functions are not dependent on directx (thank $DEITY for that
;-)

Bottom line: After the modification, both n2k2 and gpl work
fine.

Cheers,

uwe

I had a similar problem when I installed the n2002 demo which
killed *all* the generic drivers in all papy sims I own (most
notably gpl). I even had to re-install gpl in order to get my
generic driver back. I had no problems  when installing the
retail version, though.

Cheers,

Interesting..I always found  the direct input  driver to be the best but I
always like to check the generic driver anyhow.

Papy generic drivers won't work in Win XP.
I'm using a TSW2 with a USB adapter. I don't see a check box for "poll with
interupts". Should I see it?

Thanks

XP does not have that option in the controller screen.
