N4/V5/OpenGL?

N4/V5/OpenGL?

I'm running N4 on the following system:  P3 800 (no o'c), Creative 12x
DVD (works fine, BTW), V5 5500.  WinME, DX8 installed.  I built the box
from scratch very recently, and system is still clean as a whistle and
running with no glitches.

When I first did the 3D config routine, I set it up for OpenGL and got
awful frame rates even at 800/600 with no FSAA.  Re-config'd to D3D, and
all seems fine even at higher resolutions.   In other posts, however,
I've read of folks getting better framerates with OpenGL, and my other
sims seem to run better with OpenGL, as well.   This makes me curious to
know if anyone is running a similar system, and what sort of results
you're getting.  Also, any suggestions about getting N4 to run better
with OpenGL?  (Or maybe I should just count myself lucky that it's
working great with D3D, and just go with that ...)

In the read me it states if you have a V5 stick with D3D, lousy with Open
GL.  Same for everyone with a V5.
