N4: V5 FSAA

N4: V5 FSAA

You all seem to have it, and I haven't! Works in Heat but horrible
jagglies in N4.

I can't seem to find anything on this group or other forums about my
problem, unless I missed it.

Am I missing something? (apart from FSAA smartypants!)

TIA

This sounds like a strange one.  If you're running N4 using Direct3D (no
T&L) it should work since Heat uses Direct3D.  Now OTOH if you're
running N4 in OpenGL mode you probably have different settings for FSAA
in OpenGL.

You might have the "toggle FSSA on/off" button mapped to some key that
you've pressed.  Make sure the "toggle FSAA" button is not defined in
your 3Dfx advanced tools.

I use the Direct3D driver for N4 at 800x600 16bit 2xFSAA and it's
working well for me.

Not sure I understand what your question is?  I use 4X FSAA in N4 at 800x600
on my V5 & 1.33 Ghz Athlon.

Sorry, should have said D3D, OpenGL is appalling.

Yup, that is disabled

Baffles me as V5's just work, which is why I thought i must be missing
something. At least i think it's not working, jaggy wires acroos back
straight at Talledega, windscreen pillars jaggly at 800x600, maybe It is
working and just don't look as good as Heat?

Ahh, then I recommend you assign the "toggle FSAA" button and see the
difference :)

Jason.

My bad, it is working, tried it with FSAA off, yuch!
It's just it looked off at 2 FSAA, oh well.

Try 8x6 at 4x FSAA and see how you like it then.

I haven't the horsepower for that, frame rates too slow, settled on 1280
x 960 no FSAA, looks fine and reasonable frame rates. Doesn't seem to be
the pixel popping in N4 that there is in Heat.
