Congratulations to Robert and the podium.

Something strange happened to me with regards to fuel. I had enough fuel (+1
lap) to finish the race right before that last green run began. As soon as
the flag dropped, F3 changed and suddenly I was going to be a lap short, and
needed a splash. Any idea what that was about?

I wonder if that has something to do with the pitcrew ratings.  If you
have low ratings, then I think the possiblity of jammed lugnuts goes up,
but maybe the accuracy of the fuel estimates is affected too.   Just a
guess.  Probably the only way to know how nr2k3 is estimating fuel use
during yellows would be to view the estimated laps just before a flag, then
during the yellow and finally once the green flag drops again.

Presumably your fuel consumption changed on going green that the estimated
fuel mileage was based on? The preious estimation was based on pottering
around under yellow I guess.

I would agree with Tony. Its best to take a snapshot when the yellow first
comes out instead of waiting till right before the green.

I pitted with everyone else on lap 97 (of 163) and it showed that I'd have
enough to finish...until we went green. I would of gone in for a splash on
the last yellow lap if I'd known I was a lap short.

I just looked at the replay, and my car was dented in on the right side and
was slowing me a bit out of traffic. Maybe the damage is why I needed to pit
for a splash when the others didn't?

BTW Grub, people on TS were asking about you. :-)

Pitcrew ratings?!?  I didn't know there *was* such a thing in the game.
Somehow that seems wrong that a random number generator effs with your crew...

Sorry to hear that Mitch :(

All the best for a speedy recovery for your daughter, which I am sure is
echoed by the whole of RAS.

Good luck
Tony

...

I think that simply has to do with you nailing the throttle. You fuel
consumption increases at higher revvs or with the throttle depressed
more than during easy-going laps behind the pacecar.
