Momo and Act labs Pedals N2003

by Gave » Thu, 26 Jun 2003 10:29:11

I got tired of using the Momo pedals and after waiting 9 months for ActLabs
to send me replacement springs I finally got the Performance pedals working
again. Well, kind of. They work in GPL, F12002, hell just about everything
but N2003. I know they should work but they don't.
Using two different machines, one with XP Pro and the ohter Win98.
Odd thing is in the control panel where it list the Momo in the number 2
slot, nothing in the number 1 slot. But if you try to move the Momo there
you get a slot occupied message.
Anyhow, anybody go throught the same thing?

Greg,

This may be insulting your intelligence, and if so, I apologize, but I have
a Momo with a set of BRD Speed 7 pedals, and I didn't think they were
recognized in N2003 either.  Then when I was in the sim's calibration screen
I noticed a forward arrow at the bottom of the screen.  Low and behold, I
could calibrate my pedals on axis 4 & 5, I believe it is.

HTH,

Oh, one more thing, in your Logitech Profiler, click on Global Profiler
Settings.  Under General Behavior, make sure that "Switch selected device to
ID 1" is checked.

Does the Perf pedals show up in windows control panel ID2 as "Act Labs
pefromance pedals"?  If so then be sure to use the forward arrow at the
bottom of the N2003 calib screen after you calibrate your wheel axis.  Next
page so to speak.

The Perf pedals don't show up at all. There's not a selection for them in
the "add a device" either. Makes me think that they have to be installed
seperately. I have a Force RS wheel but I like the Momo wheel better.

If this is a Win98 install then disregard nearly everything Ive said and
UPGRADE your OS...  IIRC the pedals show up as an HID device in 98.  I dont
remember.

If not then...

If the pedals dont show up in control panel/game controller then thats the
first clue its something pedal specific.  Did you possibly damage a wire
when replacing the springs?

I have the Momo and Perf pedals and they do work together.  You do need your
Momo pedals attached to your wheel (not insulting your intel btw G) and your
perf pedals plugged into a seperate USB port.  One other note, I had some
problems on a USB hub, but it was pretty cheesy hub.  Try direct to ports.

They work in everything but N2003 without showing up in the control panel
applet. I have another drive with XP Pro on it and it's the same thing, I'll
keep trying stuff. Thanks for the ideas.

Are you looking for the second page of controller axis' in nr2k3?
Should be an arrow icon near the bottom of the configure screen.

That's the thing, there's no arrow in N2003. There is in GPL though.
