I have an Act Labs now but considering a MOMO.
My first wheel was an Act-Labs Force RS. I got it due to
recommendations. I thought the force effects and movement were OK. The
pedals sucked bad. But the thing was ugly, very very ugly. And I didn't
like the fat wheel.
Then along came the Momo Force (Original version, leather wrapped wheel).
I had to have one. This is the wheel I use now and absolutely love it.
Metal paddle-shifters too, as opposed to the plastic ones on the Force
RS. I even thought the pedals were a step up from the garbage on the
Force RS. But I didn't know how bad the pedals really were until I
replaced them with BRD Speed7's just recently. So my current setup is a
Momo Force w/BRD Speed7 pedals.
If you want to go a similar route, get this nifty adapter:

Momo Racing is the new version of the Momo. Cheaper in cost and build
quality, but it has gotten nothing but positive reviews from those who
have it as far as I know.

Maybe the best you have tried...?

For someone like me who uses their PC for things other than racing, the
continuous mounting and unmounting of it would become a major hassle.
I too am in the market for a new wheel after my MS FF just croaked after 4
years. Am thinking of the AL but the price (converted to $ CDN is a big
concern).

From what I've heard, you need to remove the cover to access 2 jacking
screws as well as the one on the bottom. It was said that accessing and
manipulating these screws was difficult and time consuming.
