really worth it? What about RS shifter? Thank you in advance,

I agree with everything Stephane said abt. the MOMO, *except* he must have
been playing with games that don't allow brake locking. To complain abt.
the throttle travel being too short w/o mentioning the lack of brake-pedal
travel is unconscionable. I spent hours stiffening the resistance and
fiddling with the shape of the response curve (in DXTweak2), and there was
only a fraction of an inch between free-wheeling and smoke pouring off all
four tires in GPL. The MOMO is the best...providing you use 3rd-party
pedals like TSW or (Down Under) Redline.

From personal experience, avoid the Act Labs pedals. I got the AL
performance pedals for Christmas 2001 and replaced springs 3 times. I
sold the whole wheel/pedal/shifter on Ebay a few weeks ago. I feel
that the build quality is not up to par and they (A-L) don't seem
compelled to fix the problem or even acknowledge the issue. I sent
them several emails about the problems I was having and got canned,
generic email replies that new springs were on the way. I got the
"new" springs and they don't seem any different than the ones that I
had. I bought a TSW2 wheel/pedal setup as a replacement. THIS is the
wheel that I should have originally.
Now, the shifter from A-L is a different story. This is the best
invention yet for PC racing sims. Like I said, I sold the whole AL
setup and got the TSW2. But I ordered the GPL USB shifter from AL.
This model is compatible with ALL wheels and plugs in as a USB device.
Works greats.
If you have to have the FF, most recommendations point to the MOMO. I
looked at them at Best Buy, and I didn't like the pedals. They look
like the same pedals from the original LWFF (Big Red) wheel that I
still own. People have said that they work better, but I wasn't
convinced. IF FF isn't a big deal, I would highly suggest the TSW line
of wheels. You can customize it to your exact needs and desires and
can always add on later. I skipped the clutch pedal for now as the one
on the AL, I never used, except as a "novelty". If racign games start
to truly use the clutch, I'll have TSW add it in.
Hope this helps.

FYI - I have the pedals mounted on a angled stand and I use a Honda Prelude
seat mounted on a raised base. If your talking about using a setup in a
desk chair with pedals on the floor well then any set is going to be bad.

I had some Performance Pedals from that first production run and they were
pretty lumpy. Mine self destructed and were promptly replaced by Act-Labs.
The new ones are MUCH improved and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
