I have the Momo Racing, and it is not a hassle at all.  It is on and off my
desk all the time.  The cover you are referring to is just a slip cover on
the top of the wheel.  It just pops off to reveal to additional mounting
screws.  It is only cosmetic so it can be left off.  But popping it on and
off takes all of about 1 sec.

120USD for a Momo Force?  That sounds like a good deal.  I think I paid
around 150 for mine, way back when.

Those pedals are what always prevented me from buying an ECCI wheel.  I
was just about to pull the trigger when they shut down sales to individuals.

Ive got both ...Momo is the best IMO. Both the wheels are nice but the momo
pedals are far superior.

You're not gonna be heel and toeing with those, though.  An important
aspect to my simming experience...
