rec.autos.simulators

1) is performance under XP better / worse than win 98 using same video
card drivers? ( 21.xx)  does it work at all?

2) if you revert to 12.90 drivers do you still need fraps?

3) if you use 12.90 does windowed mode work better than fullscreen? or
is the windowed mode only applicable to > 21.xx drivers?

I know many of these things have been discussed previously, but I see
that mileage varies greatly.  i am hoping that the solutions have been
more tested :)

2. I use 12.90 and do not need FRAPS. FRAPS actually slows my frame rate.

3. I would say windowed mode works no better with the 12.90 (again, this is
my experience - others seem to differ). I did not like the 21.xx drivers
because cars looked like skeletons in my mirrors (as I was passing them of
course ;>))

I am using 21.83 drivers on Win98.  Windowed mode + fraps.  Framerate
acceptable.  i need to overtake people before the mirrors become an
issue.  oooh.  unless i'm being lapped of course :)
