This nVidia driver shuffle is irritating to say the least, sorting out
all the problems in various games. I've tried the 21.81, 21.83, 23.11
and 23.10 to various success in one sim, but not the other.

The 23.xx seem good for f1 2001, but I get NO menus or text in GPL,
which kinda sux. 21.83 was OK for GPL, but I had all kinds of problems
in f1 2001. So what versions have you guys found to be best?

BTW, we're talking Win ME with a GF3 ti 200 and Athlon 1.4 GHz.

Win98(not SE but fully patched ), Geforce3, Athlon 1.4, 23.11 drivers.
I inconsistently get a menu flicker only when returning from the track,
which goes away if I momentarily change to another screen. I can live
with it.  Fortunately for me I don't have F1 2000.

I like the 22.5 drivers here is a link to them:

Win98 GF3 Ti 200 Athlon 800 here.

23.10 work fine in GPL N4 GP3 and F1 2001.
Previous versions in the 2x.xx series would give me corrupt view in certain
tracks in GPL, with differences between online and offline play. This was on
a GF2 GTS. I always used to go back to 12.91, don't know if that will work
with GF3.
A nice feature of 23.10 (and earlier) is that it remembers what data is
already in the card's memory. This makes loading the track for the 2nd and
consequent times in GP3 much faster. Very nice for hotlapping :)

Well this is really starting to give me the shits. After trying a
shitload of different driver, 30,000 reboots and reinstalling DX8.1 I
have not found an answer. 21.81 won't install, 21.83 and 21.85 both
work fine in GPL but I have a white screen with only shadows in f1
2001 when watching replays, demonstrations, etc.

22.50, 22.80, 23.10 and 23.11 all fix the f1 2001 troubles, but GPL is
useless with ZERO text on the screen. All menus are gone, only ticks
and boxes are visible.

Maybe this is a Win ME thing? Irritating because ME works better for
me than 98SE, except for this baloney.

Anyone have Win ME and no probs in GPL with the newer drivers?

I'm installing my GF3 on my *** box as I type. I have the 21.81 loaded as
they are what is at the manufacture's site. I'll let you know, and yes I'm
on ME.

Well the 21.81 drivers work just fine in F12001 for me with the patch. The
screen flicker in GPL when exiting from the track seems to be worse than
with my GF2, but still goes away when switching screens.

Nope, 12.90 isn't recognised by my GF3. I wish I could use the 23.10
or 23.11s but GPL without any text on the screen is completely
unusable. They seem VERY nice in F1 2001 tho. I'm guessing that it's a
direct draw problem within GPL, maybe DX8.2 might solve it.

The 21.8x drivers seem to be fairly usable in f1 2001 except when I
have a replay or the "driving school". It will flick between a normal
view and a white screen with only the shadows visible. Is that the
case with you? And have you tried the 23.11 drivers?

I do get that same flicker in GPL, but that's no biggie. It's when all
the menus disappear that it's tricky ;)

XP+ 1600, GF2 Pro 64 DDR, Win98 SE
The 23.11 work nicely with GPL and F1 2001. Significant performance increase
compared to older sets.
Still tending to background-stutter in F1 2001 and GPL2 Demo

It looks like you have a very particular problem. Did you try changing
fonts?

I just ran the default replay and the first test in driving school with no
problems (other than my driving).

No I have not tryed the 23.11 yet.

You mean the fonts in GPL? Nope, nothing. It's the same installation
I've had for years. How do you change the fonts anyway?
