GPL New vidcard acting up HELP

by Greg » Thu, 21 Jun 2001 01:59:55

Well I was doing fine but just HAD to get an eVGA nVidia GeForce2 MX200,
64mb SDRAM, 128 bit 4x AGP,
...I had a 32M GeForce in here doing just fine, but thought it might help to
get the 64M..I was getting framerates as they should be, now they are down
to 19FPS running alone.....Why does this happen??
Other specs are 700M processor, 256M ram
ANY help appreciated..I must get back to feeding my ***ion, and I cant do
it at 19FPS!
Oh and I did rerun the D3D patch...to no avail.
Thanks

The GF2 MX200 is slower than an original GeForce 1 in a lot of
applications - although the GF2 has extra hardware capabilities I'm afraid
the MX200 is the most basic GF2 and just doesn't have as much muscle as even
an older GF1.

However the MX200 should still be capable of giving good (i.e 36fps)
framerates in GPL (I assume that is the game you're running, judging by the
"D3D patch" reference....) -  if you could open up your core.ini file (in
the same folder as gpl.exe) and paste your values from the [ Int Profile
Values ] and [ Direct3D7 ] sections then that might help someone more
technical than me to find your problem.....

Cheers
Jim

See the "How agp aperture can change your life thread", and have a fiddle,
it may well be that.
