Download the GPL OpenGL patch from www.papy.com.

Read the included docs, which will tell you how to slow down your mirror
refresh rate to get better overall frame rates.  I slow my mirrors all the
way down to 1/8 speed (yuck!) to get 36 fps most of the time.

Dunno about TOCA.

Try getting some decent drivers and make sure that your Banashee is
completely uninstalled.

I get 36 fps most of the time, dropping to about 20 fps at the start of
a race from the back of a full field.  Assuming you have a decent CPU,
you should also be able to get 36 fps most of the time.

My System:
Celeron 366 overclocked to 533, 128 MB, TNT 1, 2.08 reference drivers

My GPL settings:
1024x768, detail bias slider halfway, cars only in mirrors, mirror
refresh every 8 frames, all other details maxed.

Try the 2.08 reference drivers.  Also try the F10 view; if it makes
a big difference, the problem is your mirror configuration.  If it
doesn't, the problem is more global.

Thanks for your reply Dave, tried the 2.08 drivers did 'nt make any
difference,still 9-10fps in a race start,in practice with one car,17-18
fps,in f10 mode 2 fps difference using x8 mirror setting!!!
Went through my computer double checked to ensure latest drivers,by the way
the specs for the computer are,
P11-350 with 64 meg ram,I think i will send this card back and go back to
3dfx!!,once again thanks for your help.dennis
