Not to mention that GPL doesn't run very well on anything less than a
350-400.
It gets really good on a 450 with a good video card.

My mobo and cpu will run at 300,338,374,450 and 504. If you want to run all
graphics and all ai cars and get 36 fps once the grid rolls it takes 450,
otherwise you have to turn something down or suffer slower fps. Trust me, GPL
is much better with faster cpu's.
You know, your cpu in an abit mobo for under $90 would rock!

What is very well?
I use P2 266.

Yeah and I still use a P166MMX, charged with a VooDoo 2. 64meg
Ram. I get 25 fps on my own in a race. Though I get as low as
15 when racing with company.
Admittingly I have to run with cars only in my mirrors and
with only "many" tracks objects in 640x480 mode I still get
by. But since GPL doesn't tend to be bunched up racing it is
acceptable for now. Until the wallet agrees (And I know what
the PC demands are to be for N3) I'm not upgrading.

PC tuning can make all the difference to.

Take Care

Heck, I need to add some more RAM to my system, because I also have a
desktop PC with the same config' as yours, but I get around 3 fps (or
less) when I have a single other car on the track!

Anyway, does anybody have any suggestions on my original message?

36fps all the time, except at the start when all the cars are bunched up
together.
