Starforce isnt nearly as offensive as Steam either.

You can remove Starfoce with a removal tool, as I have, but the next
time you go to play a Starforce protected game the hidden protection
drivers get reinstalled.
Never even noticed it on my system - it doesn't change anything or harm me
or my PC and if it means that good developers get some hard earned cash then
good for them.

Some people have reported that Starforce screws up Nero somehow. I use
Nero.

So far I have had no problems with the new GTR demo... *knocking on wood*
This new 'SPA at dusk' demo Rocks!
That 'Starforce' thing would need to be really BAD to stop me from canceling
my world release pre-order! >;)
I can't wait!!!

The crackers are getting more and more clever so the developers have to
try to keep pace. Do you really think they like having to spend
development time working on copy protection schemes when they could be
putting those hours to work on the actual game?
What is it about what they are doing that makes you so angry? Please be
specific.

GTR installer tells you that it will install StarForce. Classify that as
you may.
And to all Nero users: I use Nero too, no problems with StarForce there.
And if you do encounter troubles with it, contact StarForce tech
support. They can't fix what they don't know about. They're quite
helpful too.
These copy protection schemes only annoy legitimate customers - users of
pirate versions don't have to put with them.
