hi,
i'm just starting on vroc, at the same time as changing to a ff wheel.

winvroc lets me turn off ff.  why?  what benefits does turning it off
have when running on-line?

1300MhZ, gforce2mx, actlabs rs, slowwwww but steady 14.4 modem (yeah,
i know!).

Some FF wheels take up alot of processor time (i.e. Microsoft one).  This
can be enough to push a SOFTWARE modem "over the edge" and cause disconnects

But in your case it shouldnt be a problem as your 14.4 is probably hardware
and your spec is fast enough to push 36fps constantly.

All the best,
Ash

i know, i know!!!

i have a good modem, but it's usb.  my os (win98) hates it, so i fell
back to an old reliable 14.4.  i'll upgrade the modem as soon as i
find a fast serial port modem.  all the shops round here are usb
only...  ebay here we come.

and i dont want to fiddle with the os, cos i only use it to run gpl,
and that works absolutely fine.

A lot of people suggest slowing down the connection speed to 28.8 anyway.  So,
if he had a 28.8 modem, would THAT be good enough?
