Me too, for all tracks except for Monza. Just the idea that he drives
those alien times with these setups helps me mentally :)

Are you an alien? ;-)

1:32.0 / Lotus / own setup (though some time ago...)
| I think Ian has given up playing GPL - not sure what he's up to now!
|
| I only have his Lotus setups, and have enclosed his setups for Monza and
| Watkins Glen (note to NG police: sorry for the attachments, but they are
| very small!).
|
| Aside from those tracks I normally use Greger Huttu's setups (version 1,
as
| I find the GH2 setups literally undriveable!).

One further thing that Dan Leach told me and really helped my times:-
Break Earlier than you think you should, but LESS
AND, perhaps more importantly, accellerate as early as possible and LESS
***ly.
I hope this helps

I do look at GPLrank from time to time, and it seems to me that you've
taken about four seconds off your handicap in the last week or so.
That's no small thing...

Practice *does* make perfect Eldred, but it takes longer sometimes than
others. Don't forget to use Replay Analyser LOADS to compare your laps with
someone a couple of seconds faster, and then when you figure out where you
can push harder, get straight back into GPL and do so!
Setups are worth spending 10 minutes on but NO MORE than 10 minutes - best
way is to make sure you steal the gear ratios from a hotlapper and then use
whatever other settings feel comfortable to you, leastways that's what
someone much much faster than me told me the other day and it seems to make
sense...
Good luck

Sometimes I don't get anything useful this way (I can't slide through a
corner like Huttu and probably never will) but often I will see something I
can at least try - if it makes me faster great, if not at least I can
eliminate that as an option.
I use GPLRA too, but I only find it useful if I'm obviously much slower in
one specific area. I use the "time difference" check box in the Graph
window - if there is a significant "jump" at one point in the graph then I
know I really need to work on that area. Usually though it's just a
continuous line, with me getting farther and farther behind (the guy's just
better than me).
