I ran my first novice races at Monza. First impression: Hey, where are
those guys going?? I was left standing at the start. By the time I got
to the first bend, the other 5 cars were out of sight. After a few
more starts, I found I had to jump the starts to have any chance of
keeping up for a lap. I was disqualified. Then I guess I blew a header
about 3 times. By getting a run at the start I could keep up for a lap
or two. My fastest training lap was 1:30.16, and I was doing 1:32's in
the races, but always finishing dead last, and most of the time all
alone, with the others lost in the distance. Amazingly, their times
showed as in the 1:34's! My starts are godawful, and results the same.
I love it, but it's frustrating.
