Logitech Wingman Wheel Squeaks

by markgam » Thu, 15 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I just got a new Logitech wheel (the yellow rim one without
force feedback) a few days ago, and it has now started to squeak when
turning. Short of returning it to the store, is there something I can do
to alleviate the noise?

I would return it and tell the sales people that the model in the store
doesn't squeak.  I bought a refurbished one from computergeeks.com for
only about $35 plus S&H and I've had no problems.  It looked brand new
when I opened it.

I have had two refurbished wheels, one that was repaired by
Thrustmaster(a T2) and my LWFF.  I'm beginning to think a refurbished
wheel is a better product than those that were rushed through an
assembly line system.  Both the T2 and now my LWFF have lasted much
longer than I anticipated...especially the T2 as I saw how quickly it
began having problems and how much longer it lasted after the refurb.

Mine does it too, but I don't know if it's a problem or not.

I'm quite sure they (refurbishers) to a better assembly job than the factory
staff.
