Hey guys, Just a quick question (i hope) when i try to run multiplayer mode
GPL quits back to the desktop. Everything else works great so i was just
wondering if it is a known issue. It is version 1.2.0.2 with just the cpu
and d3d patches. Any ideas are much appreciated

fine

Try running it at 640x480 in a window & see if any error messages come up.
It might also be worth checking for read-only files in your gpl folder.
None of the files should be read-only.

Problem with GPL

I have marked this thread (watch) myself.  I wanted to compare GPL to tptcc
last night, then after few laps went to Winvroc...  I can run offline, but
maybe like DJ, for some strange reason, upon launch through Winvroc, CTD at
about or before the amount of time it would start to make network conn.

dunno, I wonder since the race list thingy that I usually have to Download
everytime I bother to try online (about every 4 weeks or so) but since that
file this time was ok, maybe there was something that I didn't see that is
new to Download?

Im on XP, ran fine over a month ago, course XP has been updated since
then...  (home version)

What kind of multiplayer connection do you have?  Cable modem?  Winmodem?  If
you have a winmodem, lose it.  It's probebly stressing your system online, and
using up all the resources.  If you have something else, post your system
specs.  There's just something that's causing a conflict with the
network(video, sound).  Someone here will be able to spot the problem given more
information.

im trying to get a multiplayer on my lan going, my pc has no modem at all
connected to it, the host computer it is connected to runs a 128k ISDN line.
in device manager there dont seem to be any conflicts, but i dont trust my
sound card if that could be the problem (its a el cheap 6 channel job)
my system is:
Celeron 2.2ghz
512mb Ram
70gb hdd
Geforce 2 Ti 64mb AGP
XP Pro (everything has been updated through windows update...im also
wondering if thats the cause of my problems)
anything else you think is important in diagnosing the problem? Just  a side
note, Nascar Racing 4 works fine on multiplayer so its got me stumped, and
no firewall/anti virus programs are running
thanks for the help

I don't think it's XP, otherwise you wouldn't even be able to run single player
mode.  Try disabling the sound card, and see if you can connect.  That will at
least confirm or deny that the conflict is with the sound card.  Other than
that, I'll have to punt.  Hopefully someone else can throw out a suggestion or
two.

This happens if the 1.2 Patch was not succesfully installed. You should
manually unpack the 1.2 Patch and copy the files of the layout directory
from the patch into the layout directory of your GPL installation.

Have you got the budget 'sold out' version of GPL? If so, you need to
use the patches on the CD.
