I'm thinking about getting N4, but am wondering how it compares overall on
the tracks besides the demo to nascar heat. I want nascar 4, but am
wondering how much merit all the negative posts have.

It's always normal to have negative comments after a title is released.
People who like the title don't really praise it over the NG's.  But be sure
that the amount of negative message for NH was immensly higher then what we
have presently with N4.

N4 is presently the most complete racing sim ever.

N4 blows NH out of the water.

They both have their positive and negative aspects, but I don't
think you can go wrong if you were to pick either or both of
them up.

Cheers,
Rod.

I don't think so. If they can fix the remaining issues with Heat then
it is a very worthy contender, IMO.

I'll say this: I had Heat for about 24 hours.  The lack of a damage model kinda
killed it for me right off the bat.  I understand that they patched it, but
that was inexcusable for me to release a *sim* without an adequate damage
model.  A game is okay without damage, at least to me, but then it has to come
out as a game.

I understand that they came out with a patch, but, that came out after I had
already returned my CD.  So, the current state of NH isn't something I can
comment on, but I did have to mention my experience.  Your milage may vary.

NH is much better sim on lower end systems-ie anything less than 1ghz and
less than GEforce GTS...no comparison...

Well - to put it in other words - NH is not better than N4, but N4
simply can't be run on a slower system..
I have a PIII500 V3 3000, and in 640 resolution, allmost all graphics
off or on lowest detail, I get a smashing 10-15 fps at the back of a
full grid (4 cars drawn in front, 2 at the rear).
With a crash in front of me, it even drops back to 4-5 fps.

And yes, 36fps in GPL with a full field.
NH runs perfect with a full field, and imho the graphics of NH are
much better than N4.
Too bad the bugs of NH never got sorted out, it could have been a
killer.

Andre.

it.

I really enjoy the AI plowing into you while pitting and on yellow
flags. The damage is bad, and if you crack up the front end you'll see
no motor under the hood. What this......... a propane car !  The
way they start a race is poor IMO . I would not recomend it to no
one as a matter of fact I feel like a fool for buying it, but then again
it was bought to hold me over to N4 was released so
it suited its purpose.

You actually tried 42 AI :)  I can only run 13-15 AI in GPL, but tried
to muster 20 in N4.  I'll probably move to 14 or 16 AI to try and get
the FPS consistantly above 22ish.

I actually think NH does a great job of physics modeling, so practice
mode and short races without cautions are fun.

Imho, there is no comparison, N4 is the Nascar sim to have.
