I am the first one to take less eye candy to have more realism. But I now
have my fairly high-end machine set at 1600 x 1200 resolution in N4 and the
jaggies are still omnipresent. NH at 1200 x 1024 looks phenomenal.
However, NH at low resolutions looks really bad. I haven't even tried N4 at
low resolutions--I am afraid to look.

Is it just the nature of the track designs and the very detailed advertising
on the cars...? I would swear that GPL at 1200 looks a lot better and less
aliased than N4 at 1600!!

By the way, FSAA is non-functional in D3D mode on my GeForce 2 card. On or
off (at any setting) it makes no visual or frame rate difference. I am
using the nVIDEA 6.50 drivers.

I do agree tho....Heat looks better than N4. But I can't race heat offline
without punishment from the AI....Of course I can't race N4 online without
similar treatment by many of the human drivers...:)

I have more success getting around the track without a major wipeout
in Heat then I do in N4. Unless I run N4 in arcade mode.

Your right.... i could use FSAAx4 with my GeForce2 64mb gts.............?

But that was only in the demo.. not in the final.......?

Really? Then maybe I *don't* want N4. I had enough problem with being wiped
out in Heat. I don't need worse...

Hopefully that is being addressed in the second patch. However, it is
running
now a month late...Hopefully the Heat guys can get it out before Hasbro
slams the
door shut.

I just read at the HEAT forums that the MGI team has sent the 2nd patch
v1.2 to Hasbro. We'll see how long it takes them the QC it and get it out
to the
public.
