N4-Graphics Question

I am having my copy of Nascar 4 delivered to me here in the UK on
Wednesday, and looking forward to it greatly. But reading a number of posts
on the net  I am becoming worried that what I thought was a pretty good
computer system may struggle a little to play this game to its full
graphical potential. I hope someone can put this Brit's mind at rest!
I have a 900 Athlon processor with 256mb ram and a V5500 graphics card.
Thanks in anticipation.

I think you will be ok, though I'm not too familiar with the V5.

I have an Athlon 800 and an original GeForce DDR, and I have most things
maxed out in the options.

I just knocked down the 'World' settings to about 40% (can't say I notice a
visual difference) and I'm pulling anywhere from 28 to 55fps, depending on
the track and number of cars.

I average around 35 to 40 during a race with a large field, and this is
PLENTY.

Setting the mirror to the medium setting can gain you a good 8fps, but I run
it on full detail.

I have a Dell system P3 600 256 megs ram, Geforce 256 (32 meg) sblive and with
most settings in the middle I am getting roughly 28 to 48 fps on most tracks.
The nice thing is that during online play I am getting half again the fps.
50-70.

Love it.

You'll be fine.
If you get a chance and some extra dough, through a GeForce2 64mb card in
there, and it will really rock. Your system in it's current state though
should run it nicely.

That will prevent graphics from limiting you, but I find there is still
another limit in the game, sound I think.
