Has anyone managed to get this one to run under XP ?

It crashes as soon as it's launched.

How about NFS-Porsche Unleashed ?

I realize that EA is extremely hostile towards NT based systems, but it
never hurts to ask...

Check out alt.games.need-for-speed for all your NT - XP Need For Speed
needs. I seem to remember having NFSHS running on the WinXP 2462 Beta with
no install/launch problems, but I would take some advice there with a grain
of salt.

If your news server short changes you on retention, use news.mho***.com
as they have longer retention. Just make sure that you bump up your
preference in your news reader to more days retention.

OE > Options > Maintenance Tab > Delete News Messages <240> days. Or just
uncheck the box.

I can see posts back to the end of May 2001 with those settings.

I had it running in Win98 compatibility mode in XP, but it was dog slow on
a 900Mhz Athlon w/Geforce 2 MX.    Would not run natively in XP.

I couldn't get anywhere even under compatibility.  Immediately after
starting, it crashes.
