Mechanical failure in F1 2002

I have turned mechanical failure to off, but still the brakes or engine
fails in about every third race in a championship season. Its not very fun
when you have been leading the hole race, but 3 laps before finish, the
brakes failes, and you just have to stop.
How do I fix this problem?
