: I just purchased the Intense 3D video card and I have a question for other
: owners.
: To run indyfast or renddma (N2) I have to restart in DOS mode. Is this what
: everyone has to do? If this is the case how is this going to affect NRO
: since I would really want to run in rendition mode during any online
: racing.
: Also what about Kali? Will Kali DOS allow this mode? Has anyone tried this.
: Any comments would be greatly appriciated.
First, can't answer about Kali. However, your motherboard's BIOS may
disable the DMA. You may want to check and see if there is a more
recent BIOS "flash" for your motherboard. For some reason I can't run
ICR2 in "indyfast" mode from within a DOS box in Win95. However, I can
run N2 in a DOS box in Win95. Before I flashed to the latest BIOS
version for my motherboard, it was sorta the other way around. I could
only run N2 in Win95, if I ran ICR2 as indyfast first. Now there is no
way I can get ICR2 to do indyfast in Win95. I really think it's
something to do with my motherboard's BIOS. (But, Tyan doesn't care
what I think!). Also I can not run DMADIAG in a Win95 DOS box, but
DMATEST shows that DMA is enabled (but indyfast still won't run).
