My 14 " TATUNG Monitor supports upto 48.5 Khz horizontal scan rate
which allows a refresh rate of 60 Hz non-interlaced at 1024 X 768.
This is not rare by any means for a 14 " monitor but the 35.5 KHz scan
rate seems to be more common.

Iv'e tried 3 of the cards so far (Reactor, 3D Blaster, and now Screemin
3d).  I haven't put the Screemin 3D in yet, but the book says it won't
support my situation.  I run Windows in 1024x768 resolution.  However
none of these cards will do it on my monitor.  My monitor's max
Horizontal refresh is 35.5khz.  I think this is pretty standard for 14"
monitors?  Am I wrong?  Does anyone know of a 3D Rendition chip card
that would support my situation.  I have'nt looked at monitors but I'm
guessing to get a monitor that supports the high rates of these cards
would require a BIG monitor.  Thanks in advance...

   Running 1024 x 768 on a monitor with 35.5kHz maximum horizontal
would give you a vertical refresh of 46 Hz or less (assuming you have
a mode that supports it), which is quite low.  A monitor like that
*may* do 1024 x 768 in interlaced mode, but I don't think the Verite's
support that.  Either way it sounds like a good way to give yourself a
headache.

Sounds like you would need a newer monitor with higher horizontal
refresh to run the modes you want to run.  A bigger monitor is not
strictly the solution (although bigger usually means higher kHZ), but
rather the newer technology in monitors nowadays.  I'd guess a cheap
14" today would be *at least* 50kHz.  Were you using interlaced mode
before to get 1024 x 768?

   BTW, my 3 year old 14" 50kHz MAG monitor will do 1024 x 768 x 60Hz
with a Reactor card.  A lot of real estate, but everything is so tiny!
I'll think I'll stick with 800 x 600 x 75Hz, my usual resolution.  ;)

Pretty much what I figured...Just wish the card makers would put the
info on the outside so we don't have to buy the cards just to send them
back.  However...If I could pick up a monitor that would support my
situation (for a reasonable price) I would do that.

I did see it on the box AFTER I recieved it.  I must of missed it on the
web site.  But I have to admit I didn't know they would be so hi.  I did
ask the sales guy if there was anything special about the requirements.
I guess that doesn't qualify as special.  We learn as we go I guess.  :)

Intergraph did place the refresh rate information on the box, and on their web
site.  What were you looking at?
