Good news,

Word on the street is that a tentative official Papyrus implemented
fix for the GPL Voodoo3/Banshee texture corruption problem is
about to enter the testing phase.  Start looking for it the near
future.

p.s. My apologies to 3dfx for implying the problem was completely
     their fault, it was not (although if they had come out with
     a real OpenGL ICD the problem would have gone away as well).

There is an easy way to get around the problem (atleast
with the Voodoo3. Under The 3dfx Tweak tab
just limit texture memory to 2 meg for glide and
GPL runs just fine. But don't forget to unmarkit
for other games that can use more than the 2 megs!

        Any word if the reduced gamma levels are being looked into?

Having intimate knowledge of the bug at hand I can safely say
this only works in some very special circumstances.  If those
happen to be the ones you play the game under - great, if
not official help should be on the way.

Being an complete idiot in this, and not finding any proper
explanation in the manual:
What is the disadvantage of checking that 2MB-box?
And, if somebody can explain, what is the effect of the other
3dfx-tweak options?
