F1GP2 Network play?

F1GP2 Network play?

Does anyone know if F1gp2 will have 26 players on a network?, cause that
would be really cool racing against so many people!

Also is Micropose going to have the real sponsers, teams and drivers like
in indycar, or is it going to be polygon shapes again?

Oh yeah one more thing, i think a neat feature would be that when a car wipes
out there should be oil spills left from the car and then you can spin
out on them.

I just read and short story about next year releases.  Geoff Crammond
was quoted saying that he thinks frame rate is one of the more important
things.  F1GP 2 will have improved graphics, but there will be ways to get
good frame rates.  He also succests that some game makers are too
focused on graphical details and forget playability.  They are currently
looking at few licensing problems (maybe 1994 drivers, sponsors?).

At least that frame rate part sounds good...

Agreed.

I think they should also build in a car, driver, team, helmet etc
editor.  That would be a nice feature too.  And a paint kit in the
editor for doing nice graphic work on the cars and helmets.

Yeah, TCP/IP would be great!  And have it for different OS formats, such
as Linux, SunOS, and Irix.  This is probably too much to ask, but I think
if WC had network play similar to Doom, it would make it that much better.

Alright, if we all  just *wish*  WC2 to have nice features like network play
(which i agree 110% is a nice feature) it won't necessarily bring that feature
to this game (i may be wrong on that one, maybe Geoff is watching!  :) ).

So i propose we all write our whish to Microprose via e-mail, that way our
wish will have a better chance of materializing in WC2.

Is it still valid ?

<Stuff deleted>

Since DOOM came up with network-play, A LOT of people have bought network-
interface-cards (NIC) because of the increase in gameplay (4 gamers vs 2)
and because of the speed-increase...  I can't understand why the developers
still "forget" to implement network-code (NASCAR, Dark Forces) in a game
that would have a logarithmic increase in gameplay when more people can join
the fun.  It is NOT so much extra work to implement network-support, if at
all, since the ipx-protocol will handle the packet-sending with headers on
the top of the packets routing the data to the right places in the network.

Microprose, please take a look at Descent, and see how beautiful it can be
done(, and it works).  People can join and leave the game without
interrupting gamers inside...
Please give us the possibility to play with IPX! and up to eight players in
the same game...
