I primarily use this sim for Hotlapping.

I find with the soft tryes on, and with my qualifying setup, I only
get my out lap complete before my tryes go to a red color (meaning
overheated) and therefore I tend to get such a reduced grip that I can
put in a good time on my qualiyfing lap.

If I could time my outlap I would be thrilled as I get terrific grip.

i dont think im exesivelly locking my brakes to cause the temps to
come up that high, and even if i take the outlap really easy it still
tend to happen

is this just me, or are you guys getting several good laps from the
soft compouind tires.

Its not a critisim of the sim, i for one think its the best yet, so
much thatIi have mothballed F1rs2.

cheers

Red does not mean over-heating, it means at correct race temp.  Yellow means
over-heating.  Look at p8 in your manual. (Well, that's the page in the UK
manual anyway.)

Anyway, there is a lot more to grip (or lack of it) than tyre compound. I
think you need to review your qualifying setup as you shouldn't have any
problem with soft tyres for a lot more than an outlap!
