LWFF & F12001 - FF CPU Hog?

Does anyone else have a problem with force feedback in F12001 causing
a big framerate drop?  e.g. When I turn off FF, I'm getting 100-110fps
on test days, yet with it on, I'm getting 50-60fps.  A friend of mine
has a similar system with a MOMO and it doesn't seem to cause the same
decrease.  My system is:-

Athlon XP 2000+
Leadtek GF4 Ti4600
256MB DDR RAM
Soltek SL75-DRV4 mb
WinXP Pro
LWFF with 4.11c drivers

No such drop here.
P4 1.6, GF2MX/MX400(23.11), 512ram, WinMe,
LWFF 4.11.
F12001 1024x768 all details maxed.
Your FPS are very similar to mine..... (60-80 on tests) with FF on or off
makes no difference.
Perhaps you need more ram.

In your LWFF joystick properties, how high did you set force (0-150%
slider)?  If it's over 100% this may cause the hit.  I remember reading this
somewhere, just can't recall.

You might shoot a note to the guys at logitech, they are pretty good with
this stuff, perhaps it is an XP thing, but maybe they have heard of it.
Good luck, I tried F1-2001 with no FF last night.....no way.

Have you checked out your direct x functionality?
In the direct x folder on your hardrive you'll find a folder that says
setup.
open that to find the directx diagnosis tool.

Are you using a USB connection or the gameport for your LWFF??
This makes a huge difference!
