Ferrari FF Wheel Problems With New F12001 Patch

My wheel has a mind of it's own at times with the new patch. During a
straight it will jerk to the side, stiffen up, and  even seems to try and
make my turn for me. Undriveable at times.

All aids are completely off. I did a complete re-install and created a new
player profile. FF strength set to 100% and ff effects set to full.

Using 3.08 Ferrari FF wheel drivers.
XP
P4 1.6
GF2Ti

Move the FF strenght slider to the opposite side. It depends on what FF
wheel you have as to what side of 0 it should be on. If I put mine to the -
side I get the effect you describe.

It doesn't make a difference if I set it negative or positive. Others are
having this problem with the Ferrari wheels. They didn't test the patch with
one for some reason.

Hmm...maybe get the advanced Doc and play around with the settings in your
.plr file.
I notice a definate difference if I move it to - or +. - is just as you
describe, but + side is good.

Ouch...David would, we presume, know enough to do that.

Ferrari FF Wheel Problems With New F12001 Patch

Steering help is not on.

The wheel even jumps around while idling at times. It also keeps jumping
around after I exit a session and am in the menus, and even after the game
has closed down.

Sounds like it could be a spiking potentiometer in the
steering wheel.

My ACT Labs wheel started acting funny, and I was ready
to blame the patch.  Just to be sure, I popped the
wheel open and found a crack in the collar that fits
over the potentiometer shaft.  The FF was doing wierd
things because the wheel movement was not translating
to the potentiometer.  FYI, a zip tie clamped down the
collar and fixed the problem.

It's a new wheel, and works perfectly when the ff is off. FF also works
great in the RT demo. Others at HG and Relay are having the same problem
with F12001 ff and the Ferrari wheel.

ISI/EA didn't test the Ferrari wheel with the patch unfortunately.
