Ok, I've installed the drivers set recommended by all on here. I'm now
pulling my hair out!! The wheel and force feedback are just nuts. It
pulls left, right and every way. Anyone got any tweaks or ini's that
they could let me have plz so I can get the damn thing to work.

I'm using settings that I've found here:

http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~hg/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29826

Look at the bottom of that thread, you'll find some settings there (f1 2001
force feedback setup.txt). I didn't come up with these, they're by a guy
called Garrison. But there are others with different settings. I like these,
so I stick with 'em.

There are three things to adjust with these settings:

1. Windows MOMO settings in game controllers panel (FF levels, centering
spring etc.)
2. F1 2001 (patched to 1.0.7.4) in-game wheel settings
3. your *.plr file (you edit this file)

You'll find all of the above tweaks in that Garrison text file. I only
changed his positive FF
level to negative level in the game itself (-65), which felt better to me.

Good luck, it's worth it.

Why did I think you were talking about a MOMO wheel??? I'm just not myself
today...

Happy New Year!

This is definitely symptomatic of a driver problem rather than settings
within F1 2001.  Myself and many others have had the same problem.  Are you
setting the controller to 'wheel'?  Don't do any of the manual editing
thing - it just screws up.

For me, I installed the 2.1.6 drivers in XP, selected the Thrustmaster wheel
option in F1 2001.  Everything was perfect except no split axis. I then
upgraded the drivers to 2.3.6 with no Thrustmapper and everything including
split axis was perfect.

I did experience the effect you describe when I was manually editing the
settings, and running with the drivers that included Thrustmaster.

Good luck.

You need to clean out all remnants of your current ferrari wheel drivers,
and then install the 2.3.6 drivers. Don't install the Thrustmapper utility
though.

Get the drivers here: http://uk.guillemot.com/corp/liens/indexlien.html
Click on the drivers/download link under "Guillemot" at the bottom of the
page.
