No change in GPL 1.1 fps for me

No change in GPL 1.1 fps for me

by Peter Prochazk » Mon, 12 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Since a lot of people seem to have problems with GPL 1.1 framerates, I'd
just want to tell, that my fps haven't changed in either direction since I
installed the 1.1 patch.(no 37-38's, no 25's).
My system is PIII 450, Asus P2B-S, V 3 3000 (works great now without 2mb
tex. limit), SBLiveValue. I have a cable modem, so I'm connected to Inet
permanently by network card (something by 3Com, don't know the exact name).
I tell this because some people suspect, the drop to 25 fps has something to
do with the DUN.
I'm running GPL in 1024x768, all details to full, and get 35-36 fps in
training mode, sometimes shortly dropping to 33-34, when I hit something (so
in fact a little bit more often then 'sometimes' :-)). The fps are exactly
the same as in 1.0.
Since I'm a GPL newbie (bought it about 2 weeks ago along with my new
computer), I haven't tried online races (I'm at 1.06.55 with the Lotus on
Glen), so I can't tell anything about that.
I hope, it helps, if the ones who have problems get some input from people
like me, who don't.

Forgot to mention: Win98, DirectX 6.1, core.ini.sample NOT renamed, because
I don't have a FF and by now I don't race online.

Nope not DUN, I am connected to net via ADSL.
